# Page token budget

**What we look for.** Whether each page's extracted text fits a budget an agent can read whole, about 25,000 tokens.

**Why it matters.** Pages over budget get truncated, and the part that's cut is often the part that mattered.

**How to pass.** Split very long pages, or serve a shorter Markdown version.

Run it: `npx backwatch your-site.com --pillar readability` and find `page-token-budget` in the report.
