# MCP well-known discovery

**What we look for.** Whether agents can find your MCP server from your domain, through /.well-known discovery files and server cards.

**Why it matters.** Hosts and directories look on your domain first. A server nobody can find from your site only gets found by people who already know it.

**How to pass.** Publish a discovery entry under /.well-known that points to your MCP server and its server card.

Run it: `npx backwatch your-site.com --pillar discoverability` and find `mcp-well-known-discovery` in the report.
