# Markdown agent docs

**What we look for.** Whether a request with Accept: text/markdown gets Markdown back from your homepage or docs.

**Why it matters.** Markdown is the same content without the markup and scripts, so an agent spends its context on what you say.

**How to pass.** Serve a Markdown version of each page when the Accept header asks for text/markdown, and HTML otherwise.

Run it: `npx backwatch your-site.com --pillar readability` and find `markdown-negotiation` in the report.
